Dance for Your Health!
I believe one sure way you will continue with an exercise program is if you are enjoying yourself and having fun. I’ve always enjoyed dancing. Music makes me happy and moving to it makes me even happier. It’s great exercise and you can do it anywhere. It also doesn’t cost anything to dance to music. You can dance while cooking, doing chores or just moving to the groove in your living room.
While many dance classes cost money, you can find free or inexpensive ones. I discovered a free line dancing class at a nearby community center a couple of months ago. We dance to urban music, which I particularly enjoy. It’s fun, the music makes you want to dance, it doesn’t feel like exercise, friendships are formed and mental effort is involved as you work through the steps – which promotes a healthy brain.
