Diet vs Lifestyle
If you are choosing your diet simply to lose weight, you may not be getting all the nutrients that you need. A balanced diet is better for you. A few years ago, I lost a lot of weight by eating as little as I could each day. While it was effective for temporary weight loss, it was not healthy. Once I got down to the weight I thought I should be, I began eating more food – and ended up regaining all the weight I had lost.
Instead of focusing on losing weight, decide to be healthy. I found that in doing so, I lost my excess weight (35 pounds) without trying very hard. Instead of deciding ahead of time what the number on the scale should be, live a healthy lifestyle and let your body naturally figure out what the result should be. Also, if you lose weight too quickly, you can have sunken cheeks and you won’t look healthy. My dermatologist told me he could tell that I was losing weight at a healthy rate because of my face.
What’s great about the SYOLifestyle is that it is simple. I don’t like it when people try to make health complicated. It’s a huge turnoff. You don’t have to beat yourself up after you made a bad food choice. Just make better choices for your next meal. Once you are in the habit of making good choices, giving your body the nutrients it needs, it is easier to do so. I found that your body will guide you, so be sure to listen to it. The bad choices should no longer appeal to you.
