Balance and Sleep

If you are overscheduled, you will be stressed out.  This is not good for your health.  Trying to stay on top of all of it will most likely deprive you of the proper amount of sleep your body needs.  Determine what is most important and cut out what you can.  Weed out the things that don’t bring you happiness.

I base my sleep needs on whether I need an alarm to awaken feeling refreshed.  I believe the body knows how much sleep it needs and will awaken when it’s had enough.  When I need my alarm to wake me up, I know I will have to get more sleep later.  Sometimes I take a nap; other times, I go to bed earlier within the next few days.  I find that I can think more clearly when I’m getting the proper amount of sleep.

You are ultimately responsible for your health.  Make decisions that are good for you.

Here’s to your health!
